Frequently Asked Questions

The symptoms of auditory processing disorder are very similar to those of hearing loss. Symptoms include:

  • Difficulty hearing speech in noisy environments
  • Difficulty maintaining attention
  • Frequently asking people to repeat themselves
  • Inability to detect subtle changes in tone
  • Difficulty following directions

Hearing aids are advanced pieces of technology designed to help you hear more clearly in any environment. Hearing aids are an investment but at Gold Country Hearing, we offer a wide rang of technology levels at different price points. We will work with you to find a hearing aid in your budget that allows you to hear better.

Hearing aids are easy to use. But before you leave our office, we will show you how to insert your hearing aids into your ears and how to care for them. When putting your hearing aids in, we recommend using your right hand to insert your right hearing aid and your left hand for your left ear. Using a mirror to see what you’re doing can make it easier.

Bilateral hearing loss is incredibly common and means you have a loss of hearing in both ears. During your hearing test we will be able to identify how your ears are affected by hearing loss, including the type, severity, and if your loss is bilateral or unilateral.

With so many different insurance providers, policies, levels of coverage, and amounts of paperwork, it can be confusing to know what you’re covered for. Some insurance policies only cover hearing assessments while others may cover part of hearing aids. At Gold Country Hearing, we have an insurance specialist on our team that can help you understand your benefits.

Today’s hearing aids are incredibly advanced while being small in size. The size of your hearing aid will depend on the style of device you choose. At our hearing center, we carry a wide range of devices, including invisible hearing aids that no one will even be able to notice. Hearing aids also come in a variety of colors to match your skin tone or hair color.
